Publication policy

We are open

The Journal of Family Research provides immediate open access to all content, free of charge for authors, readers and libraries.

We are online

Articles finally approved by the editors and the corresponding author of the atricle will be published online. We do not offer printed copies of our journal.

Early view

Articles which have completed production will be published "early view" before they are finally assigned to a regular issue.

Regular issues

The Journal nof Family Research publishes three issues per year, in April, September, and December.


The Journal of Family Research holds an ISSN for its electronic edition: 2699-2337.

Digital Object Identifiers

Each article published in the Journal of Family Research is identified by a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI).


The Journal of Family Research is published under a Creative Commons BY license. Authors of those articles are granted permission to re-publish or re-print the article or parts of it, provided that the initial publication in the Journal of Family Research is properly acknowledged.

Archiving Policy

Archive copies of the journal in electronic form are held by the German National Library.
